Giuseppe Eskenazi (born 1939, in Istanbul) has been described as the world’s most important dealer in Chinese works of art. His company, Eskenazi, has sold to more than eighty of the world’s major museums, as well as numerous private collectors. Early life and career He spent his youth in Italy, where his great uncle had started a family business in Milan, an art gallery, in 1923. He opened a London office with his late father in 1960, originally buying for the family's antiques business in Milan. Eskenazi was studying medicine, but after the death of his father, decided to instead go into the antiques business and keep the family company going. The family was granted British citizenship in 1963 in Constantinople. Roza Eskenazi (mid-1890s – 2 December 1980, Greek: Ρόζα Εσκενάζυ) was a famous Jewish-Greek dancer and singer of ''rebetiko'', Greek folk music, Kanto and Turkish folk music born in Istanbul, whose recording and stage career extended from the late 1920s into the 1970s. Childhood Eskenazi was born Sarah Skinazi to an impoverished Sephardic Jewish family in Istanbul, in the Constantinople Vilayet of the Ottoman Empire. Throughout her career she hid her real date of birth, and claimed to have been born in 1910. In fact, she was at least a decade older, and was likely born sometime between 1895 and 1897. Sergio Esquenazi (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 27 October 1974) is an Argentine filmmaker. His films combine the genres of horror and psychological thriller. Tamara Cohn Eskenazi is The Effie Wise Ochs Professor of Biblical Literature and History at the Reform Jewish seminary Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. She was the first woman hired by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion as a full-time tenure track faculty member for their rabbinical school in 1990, and became the first female tenured full professor in their rabbinical school in 1995. She was also the chief editor of ''The Torah: A Women’s Commentary'' ( Andrea Weiss was associate editor), which won the 2008 Jewish Book of the Year Award from the Jewish Book Council. The Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital is a public hospital located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The hospital is the flagship medical center for Eskenazi Health, founded in 1859 as Indiana's oldest public healthcare system.
